My mom and I booked this experience first thing after booking our trip to Istanbul. We had no idea what to expect, but the lamp making, history and Bunyamin were incredible. Would book this again and again! And will recommend to friends that visit!Great experience! easy to get to the workshop (which is also a coffee and tea garden) but host met us on european side and paid for our travel to the workshop.host was very helpful throughout the lamp making process and additional teas / coffees were provided.I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to try something different on a visit!!If you’re thinking about doing this, stop thinking and just DO it. Very recommended, especially for the crafty souls! A cool space to explore with such a traditional item, variety of colours and definitely no pressure to make it perfect but to learn and have a nice time.This experience was definitely worth it. The host was very personable and the environment was charming and relaxing. Host tried his best to accommodate us and overall made the experience great. We walked away with a lamp that was personal and easy to make with the guidance provided !I absolutely loved the experience. Bunyamin is very nice and always there to help us or give us some advice if we ask for it. And the lamp is really pretty and of good quality!! I would go back to make another one anytime if I had more time left in Turkey. I honestly can't reccomend the lantern making workshop enough! it was so much fun and such a nice relaxing way to spend some time in between site seeing. My mom and I booked this experience because my mom LOVES Turkish mosaic lamps, and we thought it would be fun to make our own. Benjamin picked us up at the big Hafiz Mustafa in Sirkeci and took us over to the Asian side of Istanbul on the metro, and it was a short walk to the workshop from the train. The class began with a brief informative presentation on the history of glass mosaic lamps and some basic instructions. Each place setting was equipped with the necessary supplies, as well as a selection of cookies and Turkish tea. With ambient music (and a great playlist!), we had about an hour to design our own lamps. Then, we glued the designs onto the lamp. I was a little unsure about my fine motor skills, but everything turned out great! 😃 Before we left, Benjamin packed up the lamp globes in bubble wrap and gave each of us a certificate of appreciation. The mosaic lamp workshop is fantastic - it’s such a great activity to slow down the pace of Istanbul. I would highly recommend this!My family & I had an AMAZING experience. Instead of buying one, we got to make our own Turkish lamps which was priceless. Bunyamin was amazing. He welcomed us & helped us make our imaginations come to life. He even changed the lamps to 110v because we live in the United States. I HIGHLY recommend anyone to book this experience !!!Wonderful experience!!it was a great experience for me :) I see that Turkish people do not attend so much. It is a joyful activity for us too :D You will get a decorative night lamb with a signature of yours. the making progress itself was also fun. The workshop was a unique experience even for my husband that is not artistic. Benyamin was warm and accommodating. He did not make us feel rushed during the mosaic process. The coffee and tea were a great addition, but the best part is that you get to make your own personal lamp instead of just buying one on the street. This experience was a fun way to spend our day.Bunyamin was a great instructor. Enthusiastic, approachable and gave clear, concise instructions.He further gave ideas about personalizing our Mosaic , but didn't dictate our designs, and just let us do our own thing. Absolutely recommend, especially if you're visiting and want a personalized momento of your trip. We really enjoyed the details presentation provided giving us confidence to trust the process and make beautiful lamps together.Not to forget the great coffee shop and the unique vibe of the place !! A Turkish mosaic lamp workshop runs about two to three hours. The bulk of that time is spent at the work station. A short demo and a wrap-up sit on either side of the build. You leave with the lamp you make.
The Turkish mosaic lamp workshop is priced per person. The current rate is on the booking page. The lamp body, glass beads, brass base, grout, and bulb are all in the kit. You take the finished lamp home.
The price covers a lamp body, the glass beads, the brass base, the soldering set, your guide, and the lit lamp you take home. Tools and materials are set up at your station. A short studio tour is part of the session.
