Our chocolate workshop is a quiet place, just a few steps from the busy Spicy Market. It is inside a lovely café. Here, you can relax, be creative, and learn about Istanbul's history in a fun way.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted with the warm, welcoming hospitality our guests rave about. Settle in with Turkish Tea and Chocolate Tea as we begin our journey.
First, we will share a story about our historic neighborhood. Many years ago, this area was a famous stop on the Spice Route, where traders brought special goods from all over the world. The smell of spices is still in the air from the nearby Spice Bazaar. Today, you will work with another special treasure: cacao.
Our expert chocolate maker will guide you with easy, step-by-step instructions. You will learn the secret of making chocolate from the cacao bean. We will show you how to get that perfect, glossy snap in your chocolate. Then, you can be creative and decorate your own special bars. It is a fun and relaxing activity, and you do not need any experience to join.
You'll leave with more than just chocolate; you'll leave with a story. Your handcrafted creations will be beautifully packaged, creating a unique and delicious memory of Istanbul made by you.

Our workshops take place at Cafe Society, one of Eminönü's most charming cafés, right beside the historic Spice Bazaar. With its warm, spacious interior, welcoming atmosphere, and lovely views of the Galata Tower, it's the perfect place to settle in with a great cup of coffee before we begin. Easy to find next to Hamdi Restaurant, it's a delightful spot in the heart of old Istanbul.

We had a brilliant time! Our host stayed with us throughout the experience, translating all the information and instructions from the chocolatier. I have a nut allergy and they were able to make substitutions for everything so I didn't miss out. The people were all very friendly and we had lovely chocolates to take home at the end.Jessica

My family of 5 (three elementary-aged children, my husband and I) learned how to make chocolate and we just loved the experience! Borak and Fathi were kind and patient with our children making sure to incorporate them into the activity and allow them to be creative and have hand-on fun. On top of everything the chocolate was simply delicious — some of the best I’ve ever had. We appreciated being able to take a break from the waking and sight-seeing to learn and make great chocolate memories! Thank you Borak and Fathi :-)Shannon

This was a really fun endeavor. I came solo and wasn't disappointed. We learned a lot about the process and necessary steps in making bean to bar chocolates; both in Turkish and then translated into English. We made our own confections through tempering the chocolate, filling molds, adding a filling (for most... it was nuts; but due to an allergy, they accommodated me with fresh caramel). The guides were an absolute delight. if you have the opportunity, this is a MUST DO activity!

Are there any health or age restrictions for canoeing?
Due to sea conditions and the physical effort required for paddling, this activity is not suitable for children under 16, pregnant individuals, those with back or neck conditions, and non-swimmers.
