I really appreciated his easy style and his questions to understand our baseline understanding. The coffee workshop was a great mix of information, humor, and hands-on experience. We all liked the fact that the workshop covered a mix of Turkish coffee culture, fortune telling, and the actual making of the coffee: a unique experience.Bunyamin was an exceptional host! He met us promptly at our tram stop on the European side of Istanbul and helped us to navigate via the Metro to the Asian side of the city. His coffee shop and workspace were located in a great neighborhood that we also enjoyed exploring after our workshop. Our supplies for the class were prearraged and ready for us when we arrived. Bunyamin taught us the history and culture around coffee in Istanbul as we worked together to prepare our coffees. The fortune telling lesson was a fun perk of the class. The experience is the best and most long-lasting souvenir you could take with you from Istanbul...I definitely recommend booking with Bunyamin if you're planning a visit!Book this experience!! For us, this was one of the highlights of our time in Istanbul! This is one of the best activities you can find in Istanbul in our opinion! Bunyamin was so kind and easy to talk with, and he has such an incredible coffee shop! Everything was amazing and we laughed a lot, we are so thankful for the lesson and will be making Turkish coffee at home now.Bunyamin was super communicative and helpful as we booked our experience and we really enjoyed getting to know him. The location of the experience is really neat. Overall we enjoyed the experience. My suggestion to Bunyamin is to let your guests drink more coffee during the experience! Seriously beautiful spot and wonderful storytelling.It was interesting to learn to make Turkish coffeeI would say this is a must-do while in Istanbul! I'm so glad I signed up because I learned just how much coffee plays a role in Turkish culture. There's a reason why Turkish coffee and culture was named on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Plus Bunyamin teaches you how to make coffee like his grandmother and you get your own coffee making kit to take home! The coffee fortune telling was a fun bonus to this experience. The entire workshop is so thoughtfully delivered and the host goes above and beyond in making sure you always have something to drink and are comfortable.Amazing experience. Bunyamin is knowledgable and warm-hearted. He shared a lot about Turkish coffee. I met great people from all over the world. That's a memory you wanna have.Great experience! Ali did a fantastic job teaching us all about Turkish coffee history, culture, and how to make it!Awesome workshop in a very pleasant surroundings. Everything was provided and the event was quite engaging and interesting. In the end we even got a present 🎁This was such a fun class, and new experience for us first time visitors to Istanbul. I highly recommend travelers book this adventure as you begin to immerse yourself in the culture and history of Turkey.I love learning the history of how these iconic country items start and this did not disappoint! We had a very fun time learning and making our own Turkish Coffee and even walked away with a goodie bag to take home to make our own!Excellent introduction to Turkish coffee making (and fortune telling) in a lovely space with knowledgeable and friendly guide. I went for the coffee but stay for the conversations. First of all Bunyamin met me close to my accommodation so, I wouldn’t get lost to the coffee shop. This was so important for me because it was my first time in Istanbul. Learning how to make Turkish coffee was more than just the coffee, it was a ritual and culture. Bunyamin shared many stories about his family and culture which made me feel very comfortable. After drinking the coffee and doing to fortune reading I was allowed to make my own coffee in the coffee shop, which was a great experience. The coffee shop where the workshop takes place is very cozy and welcoming. I had the opportunity to meet cool people and learn more and the culture.Unique experience with perfect storytelling and nice gifts, thx for the host!Bunyamin was great, the class was well organized, super engaging, and educational. we had great conversation and getting to have the coffee and then take home a coffee set was such a good value. It's more about the history of coffee and making coffee than the fortune telling but it's an enjoyable way to spend a few hours, great learning how to make Turkish coffee properly, and Bunyamin is a fantastic host! We had a great time making friends and coffee. Ben will explain the history of coffee, the customs and culture, and how to make it as well as do the fortune telling. There's a slideshow, coffee shop, and of course you get your very own set to make some coffee and predict the future of your guests! Benji was knowledgeable and friendly, we got to go to the Asia side of Istanbul (wouldn’t have gone otherwise), and learned lots about Turkish coffee and the culture around it. I loved it and immediately went and bought a coffee grinder to go with our Turkish sets we got at the experience. I’ve made coffee several times already using the equipment he gave us and have had a delightful time enjoying it. Definitely recommend and great value for the price.I took both the Turkish Coffee making and the Mosaic Lamp making workshops, and I would recommend to anyone, it's a must do when you're visiting Istanbul. The Turkish coffee and fortune telling workshop have an insightful background into the history of Turkish Coffee and the fortune telling portion was a very fun insight into Turkish culture itself. The Mosaic Turkish lamp class was very straightforward, you have a template and jars of colored glass and you just go for it. The session runs about ninety minutes from sit-down to leaving. Brewing takes around twenty, drinking and resting fifteen, and the cup reading another twenty. The rest is open time for second cups, photos, and questions.
You brew Turkish coffee on a cezve with us, drink it slowly, then we read the grounds. The price covers brewing materials, lokum and water, the guide for the full session, and a printed note of the reading.
