This was such a nice and heartwarming experience to have during my stay in Istanbul! Our host, Bunyamin, was very welcoming and friendly. My favourite part was the process of making the coffee itself - it felt very meditative. It was quite funny to do the fortune telling part afterwards as well. Can definitely recommend this to other travellers going to Istanbul (:

It was a pleasure to attend this experience. The atmosphere was very warm, friendly and cosy. A very good balance of actually learning how to make the coffee and about its history and traditions. Loved the slow conversation over the cup of coffee, definitely recommend.

It was a simple experience in an easygoing atmosphere. It was fun to get a little creative with the fortune telling and spin up stories about what lies ahead. The host was extremely friendly and made the environment conducive for social interaction amongst ourselves. We hung around afterwards to chat a little so they’re definitely not rigid about the times and they are not going to kick you out when the session ends.

I sit here, back home making a cup of Turkish coffee with the simple printed instructions I received from the coffee making class. A charming Cezve gifted to me from the class, a coffee cup and saucer swiftly take me back to that delightful day. A comprehensive and interesting talk with PowerPoint slides detailing the history of Turkish coffee, its role and evolution, cultural aspects e.g. salted Turkish coffee given to a groom on his wedding, fortune telling and its origin in the Ottoman Empire. A splendid talk.During the class I was given a step by step guide on how to make Turkish coffee in the traditional way and what to avoid eg do not add sugar after making the coffee as the residue will swirl to the top. Our teacher/ guide is a kind and knowledgable man. This along with other experiences in Turkey made me feel as welcome as I do in my home country. This class embodies the Turkish spirit of friendship, hospitality and harmonious distribution of knowledge/ philosophy. He was kind enough to meet us on the European side of Istanbul and took us to the cafe on the Asian side of Istanbul where the coffee making class happens; you can take the time after the class to explore the Asian side of Istanbul.This class is essential to your journey in Istanbul and the coffee making set (Cezve ie a small pot, coffee cup, saucer) means you can always go back there for a brief moment in your own home.

Bunyamin will give you a presentation about coffee and its history in turkey, the coffee cooking procedure and coffee future telling. You will also make your own traditional turkish coffee and tell the future after you had a nice conversation with Bunyamin. It was really interesting and a funny experience. Thank you!

Great experience! I definitely recommend. Bunyamin was super helpful and patient when we got bit lost and had small delay. We prepared coffee, had presentation about history and at the end we had some fortune telling which was super fun! Bunyamin is great story teller. I loved this experience, and if you have any chance to attend it, you should definitely go :)

This is a great experience and would definitely recommend! Bunyamin was very communicative during the meet up and on the journey to the coffee shop. There was a presentation of the history on Turkish coffee which was an added bonus to the experience. The coffee was delicious and we all got a great goodie bag with tools to make our own Turkish coffee at home. The fortune telling portion of the experience was fun and a great way to socialize with others in the group. Again, definitely recommend booking this experience with Bunyamin!

100% recommend this experience! Learning about the history of Turkish coffee was super interesting and then getting to make it ourselves was a lot of fun. Bunyamin was such a thoughtful, kind and easy going host and knew a lot about Turkish coffee. I also really liked the fortune telling portion, it allowed us to get to chat and know other people that were also at the experience. And I was so surprised at the end to walk away with our own Turkish coffee kit :) I was able to make some new friends and it was just an overall really great experience and such a good deal as well!

If this is your first time in Istanbul, you should really try this experience. Bunyamin was super friendly and we learned a lot about the culture of Turkish coffee making. The best part is the fortune telling session after making the coffee😍

This workshop was a surprise for my boyfriend birthday and it went much better than I expected. The host was very funny, Bunyamin told us great stories about Turkish coffee and the culture of drinking it. I didn’t ask for it but the host and his team made a small surprise for my boyfriend: a cake with candles which was a very nice and thoughtful touch! We also got to see the area of Istanbul that we wouldn’t otherwise see due to the location of this experience. Very special and memorable, chilled experience. Such experiences are dependent on the host and here I would say that the host really made it a core memory for us!

Alles war perfekt organisiert, wir haben viel über die Geschichte, Zubereitung und Kultur rund um den Türkischen Kaffee erfahren und zusätzlich noch tolle Tipps für den restlichen Aufenthalt in Istanbul bekommen. Bünyamin hat eine sehr herzliche Art und leitet den Kurs mit Begeisterung. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Fun way to learn about Turkish coffee, the story behind it, cultural context and how to make it. Our host Bunyamin's really helpful, meeting point location is clear and easy to find, and the coffee house is in a nice wooden house. Great experience!

A unique and remarkable experience. The experience provided by Bunyamin is by far one that we will always remember from our trip to Istanbul. He picked us up to make sure we didn’t miss the address of the workshop and was very pleasant to talk while going there. He even gave us additional tips on how to get around Istanbul and references of good places to go. The care and dedication provided through the workshop was mesmerizing. He gave meaningful information about history, culture and society around coffee, information that makes you connect easily with the topic. The hands-on preparation of your own coffee was another key element to appreciate the experience. The fortune telling part was super interesting, as its also part of the coffee culture in Turkey, and that we enjoyed a lot. Overall, this experience is something I would recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul alone, as a couple, or with a group of friends.

Such an amazing experience. Bunyamin met with me at a very convenient location and then took me to the coffee house for the experience. On the way he told me many facts about the city. He was very knowledgeable and showed me a detailed PowerPoint filled with information about Turkish coffee. He showed me how to make a cup, and then we chatted while it settled. Then we drank the cup we made and talked about how people will read their fortunes from it. He said that people do not take it seriously, more as a fun conversation starter between friends. I learned so much and when I was leaving he gave me the materials to make a cup of Turkish coffee at home. I can’t wait to show my family how to do it. I asked for some recommendations at the end, and he provided me with many! Overall, such an amazing time! He was passionate and I’d recommend this to everyone!

Benyamin was excellent. He kindly picked us up from our hotel and took us on the ferry to the coffee shop. Very informative and pleasant. Definitely recommend him.

This was a really cool experience. Benyamin was a great host, he was super communicative and made the whole thing fun and educational. We have a new greater appreciation for Turkish coffee and hospitality after this experience. He even allowed us to take some cool content for social media and helped us interpret our coffee grounds fortunes! If you’re looking for something authentic and memorable, this is it.

Meine Schwester und ich hatten hier eine unglaublich tolle Erfahrung. Es ist die beste Möglichkeit in die Kaffekultur der Türkei eintauchen zu können. Wer nicht nur eine klassische Sightseeingtour machen möchte, sollte definitiv hier her kommen. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß und haben vorallem was -vielleicht auch über unsere eigene Zukunft- gelernt.
